Leadership Development and Training

“To Understand Leadership Is To Understand Yourself”

Leadership

Throughout history, any understanding of the concept of leadership, comes down to the role of the individual, their personality and behaviours, and how they express that in relation to their followers and the situation in which they lead.

The base starting point though is the individual and their capacity to influence others. If you are aware of your own reactions and responses to different circumstances; if you understand your impact on others and the impact others have on you; if you are a learning person and are open to the concept that leadership is something we can learn and develop, then your capacity to influence others is greatly enhanced.

It is this beginning point that distinguishes Leadership Education Australia in the field of leadership development and training. With the expertise of Dr Carol Dalglish, leadership educator and author, and Peter Evans, leadership educator and business and community leader, we offer contemporary insights into the potential development of staff at all levels within an organisation.

The strength of the Leadership Education Australia approach is that it opens up participants’ awareness of the basic principles and history of leadership, then through hands on self discovery, assist participants to realise their own potential and determine how they may express this. We openly challenge the myth that leaders are made not born, and help participants to realise that leadership is a combination of personality traits and behaviour and that we all have the potential to develop our own unique potential in this arena.

Leadership Education Australia has conducted leadership development and training sessions in Malaysia and Bangkok, including a specific program for GM Thailand, and a range and variety of companies and institutions within Australia.

The emphasis in negotiating a program from the perspective of Leadership Education Australia, is ensuring we clearly understand what leadership means in the context of the organisation with whom we work. Effective leadership is contextually related and whilst generic principles apply in all settings, each organisation and institution has its own unique culture and expectations. Leadership Education Australia endeavours to clearly understand this point and to incorporate this into all development and training programs.
